Description
Radial telescopic slides are sold as singles, so order two units if a pair is required
The 5229 Radial Slide is a heavy duty full and over extension telescopic slide (135-220Kg/pair) suitable for a wide range of applications. At 600mm 1 pair has a load capacity of 200Kg with 595mm of travel, making it ideal for military and emergency truck projects where a lightweight, yet robust, slide is demanded.
Aluminium Radial Slides utilise a unique crossed roller bearing system which makes full length contact within the ball race and eradicates bearing indentation (brinelling) and migration. This is a very rugged slide and, due to the unique roller design, outperforms similar ball bearing based products. The rear stop is fitted with die spring absorbers to cushion and protect when subject to shock loading.
Cross roller bearings are best suited to applications where offset loads and point contact stresses cause significant indentation and bearing migration in the ball race and subsequent slide failure. However, due to the rigidity of the slides, there is no play within the beams and this allows for deflection free extension.
The larger profiles can take considerable loading and with the option of up to 130% extension, are rigid enough support emergency truck drawers & pump carriers to 4000N. The benefit also being that the slides offer a considerable weight saving to steel and are non-corrosive. Thus, negating the need to specify expensive, full stainless steel sections. These slides complement our non-corrosive handles, locks and tilting drawers.
The 5229 Radial Slide is manufactured from 6005a aluminium with the bearing races milled for tolerance. The finish is self-colour anodization, however there are various options. The bearings are hardened steel and chromed rods.
Prices are per single slide. Loadings are given per extended pair. There are two slides per pair. The 5229 is stocked across all key lengths. Please allow 4 weeks for OEM requirements unless subscribed to our stock-holding programme.

The slide is very smooth in operation with no play. The rollers are not like ball bearings and will not migrate. We have used other aluminium slides in the past and they are a very loose fit. There is a heavy blue die spring which absorbs the load when pushed closed. The lead time was 3 weeks, so no problem there. the technical advice on the website is good and the Technical Director ran thru some other options.
An easy company to deal with
Ian Coleman –
The rollers on this slider are unique. Normally we had taken ball bearings which can be very loose in the beams. With cross rollers there is no play. I like the attention to detail where one fixing beam has tapped holes for a screw and the other is bored for a csk head. This alleviates the problem of unsightly bolt head on the inside of the drawer. Nice touch.
Waited 3 weeks for the delivery as they are not held in stock.
Lee Price –
This slide has a pre-loaded bearing fit with no play. We can’t use a slide which is loose on our racks. Took three weeks to arrive. The staff are very knowledgeable, with a high level of product knowledge, which is something we don’t get from other suppliers.
Sheila Hunter (Gravesend) –
we need a slide which does not have any play. The sales lady was very good and advised me this slide. It works with rollers instaed of ball bearings. Absolutely no play on extension.
Howard Marshall –
I needed a slide with absolutely no play in it, so I am interested in how the rollers operate. The prices in the US are way higher than Europe. Why is this?
