GSF Opens New Markets At DSEI

As the Defence Systems and Equipment International Show (DSEI), the “largest fully integrated defence and security exhibition in the world”, closes its doors till next year we catch up with the GSF team to find out how their debut exhibition went.

“GSF had a fantastic show,” explains Tony Macis, GSF’s UK Sales Director.  “There was a lot of interest in our Tool Mounting Range and Slide and Tilt systems, especially from the Royal Navy, BAE Systems and other manufacturers of land based vehicles, like Marshall Land Systems and Anteon.”

With a new and improved product range, GSF have been eager to announce a host of additional categories that develop their core product range – GSF ‘Slide and Tilt’ Systems.  ‘There’s a lot of symmetry,” continues Tony, “between traditional ‘Blue Light’ sectors and the defence market.  In addition to our Slide and Tilt Systems we have introduced new ranges of products that compliment our Tool Mounting rage, meaning we are able to offer more support to vehicle builders than ever before.”

The product lines Tony is referring to are: GSF Emergency Rescue Equipment and GSF Vehicle Components; categories whose products have been sourced for their unique design and build quality.  Interfron, the key product range in the new GSF Emergency Equipment category, picked up a huge amount of interest from the Metropolitan Police and London Fire Service.  Being a mobile power pack unit capable of multi-purpose application, it’s no wonder this revolutionary power pack has been heralded as something of a life saver in emergency situations.  Its debut at the DSEI was watched with interest by the GSF team.

“Interfron is a great product, with huge potential,” comments Alec Don, GSF’s Export Director.  “We believe it will revolutionise the way Brigades approach emergency situations by offering a remote solution for cutters, spreaders and other hydraulically powered equipment the Interfron system allows emergency crews complete freedom from power suppliers; no hydraulic extensions and no attachments mean no entanglements, which, in low visibility high risk environments, reduce accidents and increase access to enclosed and otherwise inaccessible spaces..”  Asked as to how the power pack performed at the DSEI, Alec added.  “We’re extremely happy with the take up, orders of the product are already coming in and the feedback from the delegates we met has proved Interfron’s huge potential.”

There was one product range that the team believed was the show stealer; GSF Promount  or as it’s known in America, Pac Trac, is the latest in fast lock instant release tool storage.  On stand with the GSF team was Jim Everett, Pac Trac’s General Manager, whose twenty years worth of experience working with the US Army and Navy makes him invaluable when fitting complicated equipment and weapons onto fighting vehicles.

“We knew Promount was going to be a huge success,” stated Tony.  “There really is nothing like this form of tool storage available in the UK.  Most equipment is tied with canvas straps or bungee cord and more permanent tool storage solutions have to be re-designed when equipment is updated. Promount side steps these problems by offering individual tool mounts that are fitted to aluminium tool boards or directly to a surface, meaning tool layouts can be reconfigured and updated when there are changes in equipment.  As you can imagine we were inundated with interest from all manner of vehicle builders and defence contractors and with Jim on stand we were able to show delegates exactly how the US military are using it.”

GSF Introduces New Precision Linear Rails - Modularace

GSF are pleased to announce the arrival of the new T-Race Linear Motion Rail MODULARACE which will join their extensive range of telescopic slides and linear motion systems.

The Modularace is a complete modular linear system which has been designed around double row precision ball-bearing rollers to provide high radical and axial load capacities.

The optimised design of the Modularace System guarantees load and movement capacities which are significantly higher than other market competitors while maintaining the same compact dimensions.

The Modularace components have been engineered from treated and hardened materials increasing the resistance from friction, corrosion and general wear. The sliders and telescopic rails are self lubricating with the rollers lubricated for life to maximise the products’ performance.

Hardened and honed raceways ensure smooth, quiet, precision movement ensuring the Modularace system is capable of much higher speeds than standard rails.

This range of high precision hardened sliders and rails offers superbly smooth and accurate linear motion, together with an easy fit due to the self aligning and self lubricating capabilities of the product. With hardened ball and roller tracks, this premium product range works comfortably with very high loads (up to 5 tonnes) and is ideal for highly automated applications.

With many combination possibilities, a wide range of linear rails have been developed within MODULARACE, to satisfy the demand for strong reliable linear systems ideal for medium precision applications and general automation.
