Professional Tool & Equipment Mounting Solutions
Happy Birthday Promount
“Before Promount hit the market there was nothing quite like it,” confides Tony Macis, GSF’s UK Sales Director, “Most equipment was boxed loose against walls or tied with bungee cord and due to the way emergency equipment changes and modifies, tool storage needed to be constantly updated. Promount changes all that.” The versatility of the range is its crowning glory, designed to fit the tool, Promount units are fitted directly on vehicles or onto aluminium tool boards and whenever a new tool or modification comes into place, personnel only need to change the piece of Promount, not the entire mounting board. It’s this universality that the GSF team credit with the success of the brand. David Sandeman, Senior Design Engineer at Anteon concurs: “Promount is a rugged, robust tool mount that saves us time and money by offering a quick fit, easy solution without the storage design costs. We’re very happy with Promount and Anteon now uses Promount as standard across the company.” Indeed, Anteon are just another example of a new market penetrated by Promount in its first year. Tony Macis, explains the connection between the defence industry and Promount: “Promount is used extensively for the Defence Industry. In the US Army and Navy, Promount, or as it’s known over there, PAC TRAC, has been fitted across vehicles as standard. To achieve this the tool mounting system underwent the MIL-S-901D qualification. Nine high impact blows were conducted vertically, 30 degrees on a front down inclination and a 30 degree side down inclination, simulating rough seas and the type of damage incurred during wartime service.”
It’s no wonder Promount has made an impact in both the blue-light and defence sectors, but what is the future for product development? “As long as there are new tools coming on the market Promount will always be developing new ways to store them,” continues Tony. “We’re currently developing a new line to sit alongside existing Promounts, but we’re very much in the research and development stage with the product and therefore we can’t divulge too much at this stage.” All we can say is, we look forward to see developments and hope Promount goes on to further its success in its second year.
